  • Really?

The necessity of adding advertising is understandable. The necessity of advertising being twice the volume of the podcast is not. It is offensive

  • Listening since the beginning

I have never ceased listening to WT since its inception. From my perspective, it is the continuation of a genre created by Louis Rukeyser’s Wall Street Week…investing advice for the everyman. Direct from the source. A selection of men and women who you entrust with your savings to (hopefully) insure some degree of financial comfort in your later years. More sponsors should step up to support the show. With you all along, Consuelo. Thanks!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rethinking Investing
Q: How should one view the concept of long-term investing?
Investing for the long-term should encompass a perspective that spans decades rather than just a few months, encouraging the development of a solid investment plan aligned with personal aspirations.
Rethinking Investing
Q: What can individuals do to avoid behavioral pitfalls that diminish their investment returns?
Investors should leave their investments alone, as meddling can lead to poor decisions driven by emotions, reinforcing the value of index funds.
Rethinking Investing
Q: What are the advantages of index funds and ETFs for individual investors?
Index funds and ETFs allow individual investors to easily achieve returns in the top quartile over the long term, while also benefiting from lower taxes and operating costs.
Charles Ellis Identifies the “Great American Investments” That Define America
Q: So is there a Great American Investment that each of us can make as individuals?
I guess I'll give you two different answers. First of all, if you're talking about a financial investment, you know my answer would be, index funds, leave them be. If you said, no, how about a non-financial investment? I think Americans continue to be, as Alexis de Tocqueville pointed out, have been enormously generous with their time and commitment to philanthropic activities in their home communities.
Last Advice From Revered Personal Finance Columnist Jonathan Clements
Q: Would you have done anything differently knowing that you were going to get this diagnosis?
Definitely more French fries and probably a little bit more red wine.
