We really are living in the future!!
Would have enjoyed far more had the presenters not infused the production with their politics, and some unwarranted attacks on easy targets.
As brilliant as their writing. Love this!
Really interesting journey through local history. Lovely stuff.
Great podcast! So fascinating! Great for learning whilst walking the dog
Great podcast, unmissable
Fascinating journey along one of England's oldest roads, full of surprises. The two presenters are great and the podcast includes a range of interesting characters.
Can't wait for episode 2!
I'm planning on driving my kids along as much of Watlng Street as possible in one long summer holiday and this is the perfect historical accompaniment.
A treat to listen to this. A fascinating plod along a geo route with stories a plenty to wet the appetite. Looking forward to where Watling St goes next....
High quality production, fascinating subject matter. this is hidden history at its best. Steve Blackberry.

This podcast gives another dimension to the experience of reading the book, and also works as a standalone listening experience. I have only heard the first episode but so far it is superb. Delights include discussion about Powell and Pressburger's A Canterbury Tale, A... more

I'm a fan of John Higgs' books which uncover hidden histories of places and times you take for granted. This is like that but BETTER! Higgs and David Bramwell travel around the English countryside chatting to ordinary (and extraordinary) people about the mysteries of Britain's oldest road, Watling Street. In this episode I found out about writers and activists I'd never heard of and discovered lots of interesting facts about Kent I can impress people with! You'll love it if you're into unusual s... more
