I love this podcast and listening to Jules and Richard! Every time I see a new episode has dropped, I listen immediately. It’s so enjoyable hearing the background of these iconic hotels and Jules’s descriptions do such a great job of setting the scene. A truly lovely bright spot in my day. Keep going!
Really enjoying the podcast. Great stories and history
I heard Richard talking about his new pod on The Travel Diaries (my fave travel pod) and now I have another new fave. Really transporting and good to switch off to.
I heard about Hotels with History when Richard E Grant was interviewed by Holly on The Travel Diaries. It’s Jan 1st and I have listened to 3 episodes today already. I too, am a lover of hotels and am always seeking my next trip and a bespoke experience. This is a very different take on well known and iconic hotels and I am already pricing them up for 2026! Very interesting and well delivered! Thank you!
The stories are interesting to an extent, but Jules’s over-enunciation and teleprompter-style delivery become annoying. Richard E. Grant’s smooth, natural narration is far more enjoyable and it would be lovely if he delivered the entire series or perhaps with a more seasoned presenter.
