Things have gotten very surreal in the dark corners of the internet. AI-generated prophets are preaching jihad in Facebook groups, Minecraft servers host digital caliphates, and school shooting fandoms gather to study their heroes and plot how to up ... more
America spent most of the 19th century at war with itself. It conquered its western expanse then collapsed into civil war. Once the North beat the South, partisan politics consumed the country for a generation. A string of assassinations, progressive... more

Someone recommended this podcast so I checked it out but found the conversation rambling and the interviewer underprepared.
First episode I ever heard, and won’t be coming back bc it just doesn’t compete with stronger hosts.
This show is probably a good gym listen if you work in DC and want to sound smart at parties.
Topical, insightful, fearless deep dives into important issues of war, conflict, violence, and society.
I used to enjoy the show for years but going off the deep end. “Welcome to the nerd reich” is a perfect example and show is in need of moderate/centrist assessment to bring it back to reality or tether it to sanity.
Respect to Matthew for coming around but Jason is clearly on the side of Netanyahu and genocide. I’m from a very proud tradition opposed unconditionally to genocide. My grandfather and grand uncle BOTH liberated concentration camps (Bergen-Belsen and Dachau respectively) and they would be ashamed to see what’s happening today in Palestine. Matthew, ditch the dead weight and find a cohost or medium with someone who is morally and intellectually your peer.
