  • Always interesting

Great to have a variety of guests. Helps me understand how the business world works and the real life impacts of decisions made around the world. Presenters always make sure that language is easy to understand and issues are relatable to general public.

  • Used to really enjoy it

Listened to it every day when Micky was on it - but now so much of the show is political - and not at all balanced. I think the presenters think the Brexit referendum is upcoming and it’s their sole role to stop it. Ten years on it’s tiresome. Rarely get to end of an episode now.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Not a Strait-foward solution
Q: How might SpaceX's IPO and reusable rocket tech influence investors according to Obi Ejekemi?
Investors are looking for growth in long-term disruptive tech; reusable rockets lower long-term costs and open opportunities in space-related services and fabrication, which could attract capital if the profits and scalability are clear.
Not a Strait-foward solution
Q: What is the purpose of the Artemis II mission according to the analyst at Cape Canaveral?
The purpose is to send astronauts back to the moon to maintain a long-term presence and potentially enable a future lunar base, while also reviving public enthusiasm and scientific leadership.
Apple at 50: The man who pitched Steve Jobs the "i"
Q: How would you try and market the artificial intelligence? If that's what the new technology is, how would that translate to a product that everybody loves?
Ken argues that Apple's strength would be in making AI deeply usable and integrated into everyday products, rather than focusing on hype; the real breakthrough would come from a product that feels human-centered and easy to use, aligning with Apple's design and marketing ethos.
Apple at 50: The man who pitched Steve Jobs the "i"
Q: Just out of interest, Ken, what were some of those other ones that you were putting forward that at any point Steve Jobs could have gone, oh yeah, we'll go for that?
Ken explains that many alternatives were proposed and that most were awful in hindsight; the memorable choice was IMAQ, which ultimately became Mac's naming logic, and Steve's initial reaction didn't kill the idea entirely; persistence and testing with Apple's inner circle led to adoption.
In dire Straits
Q: What are the three crucial things to remember about what is going on in the Middle East right now?
The three crucial points are the intensity and potential expansion of airstrikes, the importance of the Strait of Hormuz as a global energy artery, and the need to monitor flight continuity and evacuation routes for business and safety.
