  • Problem with information being inaccurate

Most recent episode the presenter materially misunderstood what happens when you make a charitable donation with gift aid as a higher rate taxpayer. The charity does not receive your 40% tax. Gift Aid is a fixed 25% boost on your donation only. Higher rate taxpayers are able to claim the difference in tax on Self Assessment.

This is just one of a series of major errors by presenters who don’t necessarily have any experience or have not researched properly. Not good enough guys

  • Just awful

The more I listen to which podcasts the more I worry about how awful and under researched their podcasts are. The latest one about bank switching if so full of errors and untruths just seemed like 3 clueless wonders not understanding what they are telling about. And this seems to be repeated week after week.

  • Topics are good but the narrative is vague and general and usually finished off with "get professional advice". Martin Lewis gives much better guidance.

  • Balance

Why so obviously politically bias? Why is it not possible to give a even handed assessment of the pros and cons of political offerings on tax?

Are you using your Isa to its full potential?
Q: What actually is an ISA, in the simplest terms?
An ISA is a tax-advantaged way to save or invest up to a yearly limit, with cash ISAs acting like savings accounts and stocks and shares ISAs allowing investments, all shielded from certain taxes up to the allowance.
Renters’ Rights Act: what’s changing for landlords and tenants today
Q: Should we do some short-term and long-term predictions for the rental market?
In the short term, prices may see a bump as the market adjusts to the new rules; in the long term, the market could stabilize with higher quality, more secure tenancies and potentially fewer rental properties leaving the market.
Renters’ Rights Act: what’s changing for landlords and tenants today
Q: How big of a problem has Section 21 been for renters up to now?
Section 21 has been a major source of sudden evictions, often without sufficient notice, contributing to homelessness; the changes aim to provide tenants with more security and stability.
Renters’ Rights Act: what’s changing for landlords and tenants today
Q: Sam, do you want to just take us through some of the big headline changes?
Sam outlines the move to rolling tenancy contracts from May 1, the abolition of Section 21 in favor of Section 8 with required legal causes for eviction, rent increases limited to once per year, and the end of rent bidding at viewings, along with broader reforms around safety, energy efficiency, and housing supply.
70 years of premium bonds - are they still worth it?
Q: Why do so many people love premium bonds?
The excitement and emotional aspect of the draws, plus sentimental value from gifts and family connections, keep people engaged even when the odds are modest.
