Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

WAFL World - (15/06/2026)
Q: Could you give us some clarity on the eligibility of Peel and West Coast players for the home and away season plus the finals?
Sanders outlines the rule: there is no cap on West Coast in-season; Peel operates with its own arrangements. For finals, AFL partner clubs may have a minimum six WAFL games in the home-and-away season, with two of the last eight league games required, and a cap around 12 players if both AFL and WAFL games clash.
WAFL World - (15/06/2026)
Q: The question I get asked most from people at the football, the fans, the members, is why don't WA Football report who has been reported, or at the very least, who has been suspended?
Luke Sanders explains that there are many case flows weekly and that WA Football publishes information through media channels rather than maintaining a public, comprehensive live feed. They aim for fairness in trials and may consider public posting in the future as part of ongoing discussions.
WAFL World (22/06/2026)
Q: What has your role been this year, and how has your position evolved in the team?
Nic described starting in a backline role and moving forward due to injuries and squad needs, noting that the forward line has offered him chances to impact games and use his experience to help teammates.
WAFL World (22/06/2026)
Q: Giro, how did you end up at Subiaco after playing in the Richmond VFL in recent years?
Nic explained that Subiaco recruited him through a combination of word-of-mouth from mates and a lifestyle move, highlighting the club's appealing environment and the opportunity to be part of a professional setup under Jared Schofield.
WAFL World (29/06/2026)
Q: Austin, well done on your win. What does the GPS tell you about the distances you're covering?
I haven't seen much GPS data this year, but we wear them and the coaches monitor load; as long as everything is going fine there isn't a strong reason to bring it up, though I acknowledge it's part of how we manage our running.
