173 | Women, Anxiety & Prayer with Dr. Rachel Rauch
Q: What does a practical moment of prayer look like for someone who is anxious, and how should they approach it?
In the moment, stay present with God, quiet distractions, and acknowledge His presence even if you don't feel it. Simple prayers like 'help me, Jesus' paired with breathing techniques rooted in Scripture help center the mind and heart on God, using phrases such as 'The Lord is my shepherd' to anchor thoughts.
173 | Women, Anxiety & Prayer with Dr. Rachel Rauch
Q: How do you integrate prayer, scripture, and spiritual disciplines with physical strategies to support anxiety relief?
Prayer and scripture are not opposed to physical care. Practical steps like protein intake, adequate sleep, and reducing overstimulation work in tandem with spiritual disciplines. The goal is wholeness: to invite God into the body's signals and respond with actions that support health while staying anchored in God's presence.
173 | Women, Anxiety & Prayer with Dr. Rachel Rauch
Q: From a Christian naturopathic perspective, how do you understand anxiety and what is happening in the body and the mind when someone is anxious?
Anxiety is nuanced and multi-factorial; it isn't purely spiritual or purely physical. It can be an emotion God created to protect us, but it becomes problematic when it overwhelms life. Factors include blood sugar, sleep, hormones, stress responses like cortisol, and environmental inputs such as overstimulation. Treatment should address all these areas in balance with spiritual practices.
170 | Are My Prayers Hindered? Biblical Answers to Your Questions
Q: How do I stop cussing at God in my angry prayers?
Affirming honesty with God while encouraging alignment with Scripture, the host advises choosing to stop, relying on the Holy Spirit for strength, and submitting to spiritual conviction, with patience for ongoing growth and awareness of influences from media and surroundings.
170 | Are My Prayers Hindered? Biblical Answers to Your Questions
Q: Is praying considered teaching or are women allowed to pray in church according to 1 Timothy 2?
The host discusses governance in 1 Timothy 2, clarifying that women can and do participate in praying and prophesying within the church, with guidance on how they should conduct themselves, and cites broader biblical context to support ongoing prayer in congregational settings.
