Finding Comfort in Jewish Meditation
Q: Have you come across that, point out some sources that you could look to?
Rabbi Juskowitz mentions that Rabbi Nachman of Breslau wrote extensively about meditation and highlights a meditative approach taken by Rabbi Shlomo Salantar during Yom Kippur.
The Colours of the Parchment: An Exploration of Modern Midrash Produced by Jewish Artists
Q: How does it feel for you to be sharing over this Torah that is both highlighting that racism that could be existing in the Torah and how this art is trying to be fighting against that?
Recognizing my position as part of a privileged group, I see the importance of bringing diverse voices to share their experiences and interpretations.
The Colours of the Parchment: An Exploration of Modern Midrash Produced by Jewish Artists
Q: In the text of the Torah itself, does Tzipora or this Ishaq, who she speak at all?
Her voice is not present in the text, leading to conjectures from rabbinic interpretations.
Psalms Throughout Our Lives
Q: Can you give us a personal example of how you have used either this psalm or another one in a specific circumstance?
I often share Psalms for people facing decisions, like starting hospice care, as a way to provide an authentic Jewish voice to significant life changes.
The Case for Dual Loyalty: Healing the Divided Soul of American Jews
Q: How can we know what to believe when we don't live in Israel?
The media's partisanship complicates understanding, and it’s essential to engage complex thinking rather than siloed perspectives. It’s important to seek personal experiences and stories from individuals in Israel to gain a more rounded perspective, instead of relying solely on media reports.
