  • No longer a fan

I’ve been pretty disappointed with Kraske’s interviews this year. He is gentle and passive with guests who should be challenged. Yesterday’s episode about KC police training was the end for me - I could not believe what I was hearing. This program is officially out of my rotation.

Kraske is just a little too old white guy for the world we’re living in. I think it’s time they bring in someone else for these interviews.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Missouri auditor says state has a 'spending problem' as it approaches budget cliff
Q: What actions do you think the governor should take in the near term?
The governor should consider line-item vetoes and withholds on spending to prevent overspending, effectively balancing the budget while maintaining a runway for the state to catch up with expenditures, with the auditor emphasizing urgency and transparency.
Missouri auditor says state has a 'spending problem' as it approaches budget cliff
Q: Why do you think Amendment 5 matters in the budget discussion?
Amendment 5 would provide a mechanism to eliminate the income tax in a way that is offset by expanding the sales tax base to services, which advocates argue is essential to avoid a large deficit while keeping Missouri competitive; without it, removing the income tax without a replacement funding method could be catastrophic.
Missouri auditor says state has a 'spending problem' as it approaches budget cliff
Q: What did your report reveal about Missouri's spending versus revenue over the last five years?
The state has spent far faster than inflation, with general revenue spending rising about 53 percent while inflation and CPI rose far less, creating a growing deficit and shrinking fund balance toward a projected $600 million, signaling the risk of running out of money unless spending is reined in.
De Soto mayor welcomes data center growth, but some residents want the city to slow down
Q: What concerns do residents have about the second data center project, Digital Realty, and how is the city addressing environmental and community questions?
Residents worry about NDAs, lack of environmental impact studies, noise and health impacts, and whether ordinances will be strong enough; the city is considering updates to noise measurements and environmental safeguards, and residents want more transparency and public discussion in the approval process.
De Soto mayor welcomes data center growth, but some residents want the city to slow down
Q: Mayor Walker, can you describe your vision for De Soto's growth and how the Beale data center fits into that plan?
The vision centers on revitalizing the former sunflower army ammunition plant area into an economic engine, using Beale as a core anchor within Flint Industrial Park to drive jobs, tax revenue, and infrastructure improvements, while keeping residential separation and managing traffic and energy demands.
