Unmaking Saskatchewan is a proudly anticapitalist and anticolonial podcast series on how the province of Saskatchewan was made - and how it can be unmade. This series examines how this province's history impacts its present, and how we might be able to change its future. Hosted by alex birrell (@abirlios), a queer settler, sometimes journalist, writer, and anti-capitalist from southern Saskatchewa... more

As a Saskatchewanian currently living outside the province, thus is a super helpful podcast in terms if trying to understand why & how SK has slid so far to the right and the harms that are resulting from that slide.

As someone who lived through a good part of the modern history that’s “discussed” in this podcast, I find that the benefit of time to provide perspective is sorely overridden by the self-assurance of youth and a tone that makes one wonder if the same axe that’s used to grind the opinion expressed is also also used to hack away at sources that don’t support it.
Well done and really interesting. The host’s voice sounds just fine. Very pleasant. Enjoyed the episode about the 90’s although it’s frustrating to hear about what’s happened and still happening.
Crucial conversations providing a much needed perspective in what is often an obstinate and prejudiced area of the country. Unfortunately, at times the host’s valuable messages can be lost through the contemptuous voice.
