  • Best podcast in Alberta, hands down

I’ve been listening to this podcast since day one and haven’t missed a show. Ryan (and Johnny) cover current events in Canada, especially in Alberta (their home province). They have guests on from all political stripes and with all sorts of opinions. It’s great to hear all perspectives from a show that is truly “Real Talk”. Sure they have their opinions but they don’t force them on the listener, they encourage people to keep an open mind and form their own opinions on a wide variety of topics, t... more

  • JESPO FOR PREMIER

Ryan, I truly hope you consider running for office one day. You are smart, thoughtful, level-headed, and deeply passionate—not only about Alberta, but about people. We need more leaders like you in politics to balance out the egomaniacs who chase office for power, ideology, money, or self-interest.

One of your greatest strengths is how naturally you can connect with anyone—always with respect, curiosity, empathy and sincerity. I started listening during the pandemic when I was still living in C... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Worker Agenda - May 29th Day of Protest
Q: How does this Day of Protest fit with the Worker Agenda?
It serves as both a platform to articulate what they're for (painting a vision for Alberta) and a weapon to push for concrete demands on wages, public services, and democratic rights through mass participation.
How Danielle Smith's Court Appeal Could Kill a New Pipeline
Q: Why might Danielle Smith's appeals strategy be seen as risky for her political standing?
Because it keeps the separatist momentum alive, risks alienating Indigenous communities, and could be framed as government spending on a controversial effort, potentially eroding support among moderates and business communities.
How Danielle Smith's Court Appeal Could Kill a New Pipeline
Q: What is Max Fawcett's assessment of the likelihood of a new pipeline being built given the political and legal landscape?
Max argues that while there is renewed optimism from leaders like Carney and Smith, the obstacles—especially Indigenous consultation, regional politics, and market realities—are substantial, making a guaranteed pipeline unlikely in the near term.
Smith Must End Separation Talk After Data Leak
Q: What should Danielle Smith do in response to the breach?
Her position should be to address the breach transparently, consider fixing the laws governing elections, and avoid moving toward restricting independence by using this breach to attack Elections Alberta unnecessarily.
Smith Must End Separation Talk After Data Leak
Q: What does the data breach mean for Elections Alberta and the government?
She argues that Elections Alberta has been hamstrung by legislation and funding, and that both the government and the elections body share responsibility for addressing the breach and restoring integrity.
