  • Sandy and Nora make me smarter

I love this podcast, their analysis is so much smarter and more principled than most Canadian media, and they genuinely make me change my mind and expand my ways of thinking about a whole bunch of issues. So insightful, but they keep it fun too. Also really appreciated Sandy’s book and lots of Nora’s journalism. Thank you for helping make sense of the nonsense we’re living through!

Q: How would you engage left-wing Canadians inside and outside the party to keep the NDP unapologetically left-wing?
By focusing on core progressive values, talking to people about tangible solutions like housing, universal health care, workers' rights, and climate action, and rebuilding a party that can connect with everyday Canadians rather than speak only to insiders.

She describes empowering riding associations, ensuring funds flow to local units, and creating processes that allow local voices to influence decisions at the provincial and federal levels, thereby sustaining the movement beyond election cycles.
