  • Jesse recently said the Canadaland Sub had been taken over by people who didn’t listen to the show.

Just providing a hard datapoint here before I unsubscribe for good. I have been a fan of the show for many years but I can’t in good conscience continue to consume something he is a part of when his moral and ethical blindspot is so pronounced.

  • One of the Biggest Heel Turn in Canadian Media History

I used to like this show and its offspring and thought it brought an interesting lens to the Canadian media. That lens has been shattered. The reporters who the show touted have all left rather dramatically without any real explanation Jesse has instead took an institution he and they and perhaps most concerning the money many donors built and decided to leverage the podcasts towards a single issue, in which he takes an extreme position and wields as a battle axe against dissidents in public fo... more

  • High Speed Rail Episode

Its really interesting listening to this episode, and hearing people talk about “generational farms” and “their land” and how that’s scary to them that it might be lost, or taken away from them. Even the episode’s picture is interesting - smiling, happy white protesters .. I can’t help but think of Canada’s First Nations People - the land that was stolen from them, their fight to protect land from pipelines and protect drinking water, etc, and how photos of their protests are often more militari... more

  • Fake anti-semetism

Used to be a good show I thought. Its been disappointing to see Jesse glob on this whole antisemitism fraud, that’s just going to erode free speech in this country. Why are all these synagogues always shot up at night when nobody’s there? There’s literally dozens and dozens of examples of Jewish people committing false flag hate crimes against themselves to portray themselves as victims. Where is the proof of antisemitism? I thought journalists need proof? Would be nice to see them talk about Is... more

Kick to the Balls: MAGA’s World Cup
Q: Karim, could you share with us the start of your career and how you got involved with the intersection of sports and politics?
Karim describes growing up in Egypt where politics and football were inseparable, how he started a blog on MMA, landed interviews with Russian oligarchs, and how that led to reporting for major outlets like The Guardian and The New York Times, shaping his focus on sports-politics journalism.
A Cohere Founder on What A.I. Critics Get Wrong
Q: Do you feel that AI is a threat to creativity?
The guest argues that AI is a tool to augment creativity rather than replace it, noting that fully generated AI art often lacks the human connection and meaning that makes art compelling, while AI can enhance self-expression when used as a tool rather than a replacement for human creativity.
Introducing the Nuance: Chrystia Freeland on Trump and Putin
Q: Tell me about the first time you met Donald Trump. Did you meet him before he was president?
Freeland recalls meeting Trump within the New York elite circles and shares impressions of his charm and the early dynamics of their interactions.

The A.I. App for Rich People to Fight Journalists Who Embarrass Them
Q: What about conflicts of interest if the system is hired by a plaintiff who is wealthy or powerful?
