I know I’m late on this but isn’t it odd that 2 random people killed happened to be in drug trade ? Maybe 2 random things could have happened at once … the guys were there for a drug deal (why else would Brian blow pff his friends ) and the Serial Killer happened to stumble across them .

I like the show but the Monday morning quarterbacking on trial counsel ineffectiveness is tough. Hosts: please list all jury trials where you were lead counsel and I’ll give you more credibility

Édit: I’ve now listened to season 1 as well, and understood the genesis of the podcast and I take back my criticisms below and have increased to 5 stars. One of my very favourite podcasts. I love all the presenters now I’ve listened to so much. Thank you!

I’m listening to series 2 at the moment. I absolutely love this podcast- the level of detail and way of talking through and explaining everything is great. I love all the legal explanations and cultural and literary references. I have taken of... more

  • took me until now to realise…

why susan is no longer on this podcast: because colin is the only intelligent person on here now. used to love this podcast and their deep dives but now it’s anything but and most of what rabia says now is uninformed and moronic. sad because colin is so smart and explains complex issues very easily

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

TJ Weekly - Harry Milman
Q: Do you think there should be a regulatory body for forensic science, like an FDA for forensics, to oversee methods and standards?
Milman argues for increased peer review and education rather than creating a new regulatory agency, highlighting ongoing professional training for judges, lawyers, and jurors, and better public information about forensic limitations.
TJ Weekly - Harry Milman
Q: What do you think is the most commonly misused forensic evidence in the criminal justice system?
He identifies eyewitness identification as the most error-prone form of evidence, followed by challenging areas like fingerprint and bloodstain pattern analysis, emphasizing the need for corroboration and better juror education.
TJ Weekly - Harry Milman
Q: Absolutely. Can we start with your background, Harry, in terms of our listeners understanding the work of a pharmacologist? What do you do as a pharmacologist and how has that influenced some of the legal work you've done?
Milman describes his training and roles across pharmacology, toxicology, and biochemistry, and explains how those disciplines intersect with court testimony and forensic science, shaping his approach to evaluating evidence and testifying as an expert.
TJ Weekly - Jen Miller
Q: What has the reception been like from the twins and their family as this story was told publicly?
The twins have been cautiously engaged, appreciating the chance to tell their story while recognizing the immense public exposure and its potential impact on their healing and reintegration.
TJ Weekly - Jen Miller
Q: Why use Shakespearean titles for every episode, and how does that framing help the audience understand the case?
Shakespearean titles provide a thematic through-line that mirrors the drama, sacrifice, and loyalty in the brothers' story, enabling a nuanced look at character and motive beyond straightforward crime reporting.
