  • Everyone needs to sit in the Uncomfy chair.

This show is so needed in an ever increasingly divided world. If we don’t learn or re-learn how to learn about, and from each other and get uncomfortable with that process, America could see some really dark days ahead. Thank you Julie.

  • 👏🏻👏🏻

I absolutely love this podcast as I have found myself searching for help in sitting in my uncomfortable seasons and moments. I love how short the episodes are, my only critique is I want more than one episode a week 😂

  • The hard work of love

I have learned a lot from this podcast. Leaning in to discomfort and getting curious are skills that come in very useful these days! When I can tell someone isn’t going to listen to me, I go into “listen mode” and truly try to understand and rephrase their thoughts. This turns down my temperature and increases the likelihood that they will be willing to hear my point of view. This is how to build Zion, and I believe that if we build it, He will come.

“Perfectly Hidden Depression” and the Power of Transparency – Dr. Margaret Rutherford
Q: All right. So tell me a little, tell us a little more about that moment then.
The moment was about choosing honesty over fear of judgment, acknowledging that perfect lives are a cover, and inviting openness that could help both herself and others heal.
The Night No One Showed Up…and Why He Kept Going – Michael Wilker
Q: What is something Del Ray Dads has spurred that you're most proud of?
The group has become a natural, ongoing thread across the neighborhood, enabling casual meetups, support, and collaborations like attending weddings and dancing rehearsals, which illustrate how it supports and expands social ties beyond its formal events.
The Night No One Showed Up…and Why He Kept Going – Michael Wilker
Q: How risky did it feel to host another gathering after so many had come before, and what kept you going after failures?
It was uncomfortable and risky, but the constant of a monthly event, the strong network, and the desire to stay connected with neighbors kept me going; the few successes that followed after failed attempts reinforced the value of persistence.
Growing Up with Autism and a Father’s Tough Love — Leland Vittert (NewsNation)
Q: Why did you decide to write this memoir and go public with your story?
He says it's important for parents to know there is hope and to illustrate how parental love can move mountains in a child's development, offering practical examples of resilience and the impact of challenging growth rather than shielding from it.
Growing Up with Autism and a Father’s Tough Love — Leland Vittert (NewsNation)
Q: When did you start to sense that you were different?
Vittert explains that in high school and college he realized his mind worked differently, with early evaluations revealing a gap between IQ and emotional intelligence, which, despite the challenge, his father chose to address by fostering adaptation rather than seeking accommodations.
