  • Hit and miss

Sean is a personable and interested interviewer, some guests and interviews land more than others. The Lelia Doonan interview was superb. Scope to probe more into the careers of former politicians and broadcasters. Some episodes are dull/disappointing.

  • Awesome.

For anybody who wants to take a trip down memory Lane to their days in Galway in the heady 70s and beyond, this is a treasure. Ollie’s love for Galway shines through. He turned down the chance to tour with The Boomtown Rats for goodness sake!

Jack Chambers
Q: Why did you decide to come out publicly in early 2024, and how has it affected you personally and politically?
I came out after a long period of considering how open I could be, deciding that people deserved to know who I am. It was a personal wish, not something forced, and it has been largely unremarkable in its impact but meaningful for authenticity and public life, helping people understand the full person behind the politician.
Mary Davis
Q: How did the Ireland World Games in 2003 come about and what impact did they have?
She explains the bid process, local and government support, and how hosting the Games mobilized 165 countries and thousands of volunteers, transforming attitudes toward disability across the country.
Mary Davis
Q: What early experiences drew you to Special Olympics and how did your role evolve to lead the organization globally?
She discusses starting as a local volunteer and teacher, moving into leadership in Europe Eurasia, and ultimately being invited to lead the global organization, driven by a desire to bring programs closer to people and to expand opportunities worldwide.
Fr John Joe Duffy
Q: Is there something of resilience in the human condition that people somehow manage to work their way through?
The guest speaks about resilience enhanced by faith, prayer, community support, and practical trauma resources, acknowledging ongoing grief but emphasis on endurance.
Fr John Joe Duffy
Q: Am I correctly informed that you did reach out to people who had experience in Northern Ireland during the Troubles to give you some ideas and support?
Yes, they consulted organizations like WAVE for trauma education and support, reflecting a proactive approach to trauma-informed care.
