  • Perfectly Great. Just Get to The Point

Love the content and there’s such a great variety. It suffers from, as does a lot of pods were the intention is to have informal chemistry between hosts, a severe problem of introductory ramblings. You will find yourself having to skip through the first 20-30 mins of some of the longer episodes - Album Roundups for one, skipping through the waffle. Get to the point lads

  • 👎🏻

Shame, as I used to like the previous iteration of this and RA but it’s all gone very silly with topics such as boyband covers or songs by fictional musicians. Its just a nostalgia-fest like loads of other podcasts. Not a regular listen for me now.

Ep.183: Sparta's Jim Ward Takes the 5 Album Challenge
Q: Why did Piano Man become your first pick, and how does it fit with the others you chose?
Ward explains that Piano Man represents a pivotal moment in Billy Joel's catalog, balancing narrative craft with personal connection, and he would later weave in discussions of other picks to illustrate his musical evolution and influences.
Ep.183: Sparta's Jim Ward Takes the 5 Album Challenge
Q: How hard was it to choose five albums, and what was your process for selecting them?
Ward says he picked the first five records that immediately made him who he is, emphasizing emotional resonance and storytelling behind each choice, with brief justification for how they fit into his life and career.
Ep.180: Held's Douglas Robinson Takes the 5 Album Challenge
Q: Why did you choose White Pony as the Deftones pick, and how does Around the Fur contrast with it?
White Pony is one of the defining records for its confidence and cinematic scope, while Around the Fur captures a raw, unapologetic energy that foreshadowed the band's evolution; the guest contrasts these two as complementary representations of the band's range.
Ep.155: Jami Morgan of Nowhere2run
Q: Will any other members of Code Orange be getting involved in your project?
Dom is basically already part of it. He does all the blood raves with us.
Ep.148: The Boys of (the end) of Summer. 2025 Festival Season in Review
Q: Which acts could similarly headline on legacy, despite not being as big as they once were?
Acts like Papa Roach and System of a Down could headline on legacy alone, given their extensive catalog and the nostalgia attached to them.
