  • Absolute lads

Started listening to these boys just over a year ago. Absolute class. Super likeable lads, no frills, no pretentious music chat, just three geezers who you’d love to go for a pint with being enthusiastic about the tunes they love. Great taste, rad lads, party on dudes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Kesari Gorin - Negative Frame
Q: What inspired the debut album Break The Ice and what was the recording experience like?
The album is a nine-year culmination with a heavier metal lean, recorded with John Mitchell who helped with harmonies and vocal layering, making the process both challenging and rewarding while preserving energy from live performances.
Kesari Gorin - Negative Frame
Q: How did Negative Frame come together and what were your early influences?
The band formed in 2017 through a shared love of metal, with early influences from Lamb of God and Pantera, and later embracing hardcore and beat-down elements as new members joined, creating a flexible, crossover sound.
Ben Hutcherson - Khemmis
Q: How does the songwriting process in Khemmis work?
Songs typically start as ideas that must click with everyone; rarely is a full song brought in, and the band collaborates to shape and rework ideas until they fit the whole record's balance and emotional core.
Pierre 'Pelbu' Mendivil - Knuckledust
Q: What keeps Knuckledust motivated to continue creating music after decades?
A balance of passion, personal life, and the sense that the scene remains meaningful; they release when ready and use life experiences as lyrical fuel, with members involved in multiple projects to sustain activity.
Pierre 'Pelbu' Mendivil - Knuckledust
Q: What was the motivation behind starting a label, and how did it evolve?
The lack of existing infrastructure for DIY bands prompted the founders to create and then rebrand a label, gradually expanding to include distribution and broader collaboration across the UK scene.
