  • Rich guys laughing at each others jokes

The first too many minutes you will listen to something that sounds like tone deaf guys thinking everyone wants to spend their limited time listening to them crack up at their inside jokes

  • Great insights, but a bit "Bitcoin heavy"

Motley Fool Money is easily a 4 star podcast. The Phillips and Page are smart, funny, and the analysis is usually spot on. My only real gripe is the recent pivot toward Bitcoin…it feels like almost every episode now revolves around crypto. I’m hoping the pendulum swings back toward equities soon!

  • Just brilliant

Quickly becoming my favourite podcast. Andrew is my favourite bitcoin pontificator and I love Scott’s trajectory into the sound money world. Despite the jokes that it’s “too much Bitcoin content” … obviously for bitcoiners there is never enough, so keep it up fellas!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Mailbag, incl: Can borrowing for shares close the gap to property? June 21, 2026
Q: Hayden asks whether leveraging with NAB Equity Builder narrows the gap to property and how to think about rates versus expected returns.
The hosts explain that leverage can magnify gains when returns exceed the borrowing costs, but if the rate rises toward or above the expected return, the investment becomes riskier and may underperform; they emphasize evaluating whether the after‑tax, after‑risk economics justify the leverage and note there are scenarios where debt can be detrimental.
Mailbag, incl: Can we stop the intergenerational hate? June 7, 2026
Q: Mass Group thesis creep and what to do when a founder-led company pivots away from its original business; how should an investor evaluate whether to hold or sell?
Investors should articulate a clear, rational investment thesis that can adapt to new information. If facts change and the original justification weakens, reconsider the thesis, possibly lowering confidence or selling, but only after evaluating whether the leadership can credibly pursue the new direction and whether the new business still offers reasonable value and growth prospects. If you would buy again under the new thesis, you may choose to hold or partially reallocate rather than dump entirely.
Mailbag, incl: Can we stop the intergenerational hate? June 7, 2026
Q: What is your view on the PEG ratio as a practical tool, and how should investors think about it in relation to growth assumptions and time horizons?
The PEG ratio is a helpful directional concept to understand the relationship between price and growth, but it should not be treated as a fixed rule. Its usefulness diminishes the longer the growth period extends, due to compounding and the variability of growth; investors should use PEG as one input among many, considering how long growth is expected to persist and how the metric interacts with discount rates and terminal values.
Mailbag, incl: How should Australia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund invest? June 14, 2026
Q: How should investors evaluate a company's debt levels?
Debt should be evaluated with consideration to cash flows, asset backing, and industry characteristics; look beyond simple metrics like debt-to-equity and consider the sustainability of interest costs under different scenarios, including rate changes and potential shocks to cash flow.
Mailbag, incl: Quarks, physicists and engineers… and investing. May 17, 2026
Q: How should you think about transitioning from accumulation to income when your portfolio can largely fund your lifestyle?
The hosts suggest a nuanced approach: balance growth with income, consider tax implications, and focus on after-tax returns; it's about optimizing the overall wealth trajectory rather than chasing a single metric.
