  • Triple Play? More like grand slam

Video game podcasts are common now, but they are never as interesting and thoughtful as triple click. Each host has a super unique perspective, personality and insightful opinion. You may not share the same opinion as one host, but you will for another and even though they don’t agree, they are so incredibly respectful and kind to one another and appreciate that their opinions are different. And not at all in a corny way. My favorite day of the week is when a new triple click is released

  • Depressing, not enough games talk

You have to listen through quite a lot of dreary talk about sports, TV, news, etc. to get to the games. I wish they’d take being a *games* podcast more seriously.

  • Amazing podcast

Truly amazing, I love this podcast, and it made it possible for me to climb up a 10 mile mountain while still being enjoying myself. Every single podcast is a piece of art, and I continue to check if any new episodes were released. Also, please do an episode on dredge! (maybe you have, but I can’t find it)

  • Time Stamps for Sections of the Podcast Are Not Accurate

Tried listening to the Mina the Hollower episode and the discussion began much earlier in the episode. I knocked three stars off because Jason. Did not realize he was a host and will never be listening to this show ever again. He is not the end all, be all of games journalism and I’m so tired of him being everywhere. Please stop, Jason. You’ve done enough. Try doing less or better yet find something better to do with your time because you are wasting everyone else’s.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What It's Like When Your Game Flops
Q: How are you feeling after this? What are things like for you after finishing a tough project that underperformed commercially?
It's extremely complicated and emotionally taxing; the work is meaningful and the team stayed committed, but the outcomes are not what anyone hoped for, leading to reflection on what to do differently next time while still taking pride in delivering something completed and coherent.
What It's Like When Your Game Flops
Q: Did you have a plan at this point? So you're going indie, you start your own studio, you bring some people over. Did you have a financing plan?
The plan evolved from prototyping funding through CMF in Canada to a Kowloon Knights fund and then Kepler Interactive, with real emphasis on funding that allowed autonomy but required the team to absorb marketing and production work themselves.
Should You Buy A Switch 2 Before Prices Go Up? [Mailbag]
Q: Given the potential for price hikes and limited availability, would you buy the Switch 2 now or wait?
If you're sure you want a Switch 2 and there are games you want to play soon, buying now can be sensible to lock in the current price, but if you're on the fence or there isn't a compelling title yet, waiting for direct announcements or a clearer lineup could be wise, since price increases are plausible but not guaranteed in every market.
Help, I'm Getting Too Old For Hard Games [Mailbag]
Q: What age should kids start playing video games, and how should parents balance screen time with other activities?
The hosts suggest a nuanced approach: not all screens are equal. They advocate for choosing developmentally appropriate, social, and engaging games (like Animal Crossing), limiting passive TV time, and gradually varying exposure as children grow, while emphasizing parental involvement and context.
What's The Deal With: Dragon Quest
Q: Maddy, what about you? What's your level of experience of this series?
Total newcomers. So we're going to talk about the Dragon Quest VII Reimagined demo, which all of us played, and that is my first time ever playing any Dragon Quest at all.
