  • Mockers gonna mock

Mockery seems like a fitting name for a podcast dedicating to mocking others, making wildly uneducated takes and generally spreading nonsense with very little reflection. Any critique is met with ”ha ha we are only joking mate!” - but when you have a substantial following there simply needs to be a certain standard to what you share, and to me that standard is too low. But if you want to listen to brain dead circlejerking then I guess this is the podcast for you.

  • A good hang

Funny inside talk about a sport 99.9% of us will never attempt but inspires short runs, bikes and swims around the neighborhood. Love the oddly specific humor and discussion about travel, friends, flat whites and outright gossip lol all in the context of triathlon.

  • Not mocking anyone

The real star of the podcast is Tom who’s Professional triathlon career maybe won’t be as good as his triathlon media career when he retires, Tom knows the questions to ask and can put any information over to the ordinary Joe in the street with no problems. A glittering career in Tri media awaits if he is just more consistent with YouTube and Pocasts. As for Joe I can’t work out if he’s pretending to be thick or just really is ?? 🤩

I love these guys. They are truly hilarious. I only wish they would be more consistent with their episodes. Sometimes we have to wait more than a month for the next episode. Keep up the honest conversations. You guys are amazing.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sexual Transmitted Doping
Q: How do you balance strength training with your endurance work?
Integrating strength training into endurance work can enhance performance, but it's essential to approach it with caution and seek advice on posture and technique. Gradually introducing strength training can provide robustness and efficiency improvements.
A Toxic Relationship
Q: Any tips for beating the post-race blues?
Sign up for a new Ironman or set intermediate less challenging goals to keep yourself engaged after finishing a significant race.
Young dog back on the block
Q: How does it work with the wildcars then? Is it because there's a lot of people that want to throw their name in the hat?
Max explains the nomination process through their federation for racing opportunities and the competitive nature of securing a spot.
The Interrogation Room
Q: Do you think raising an Ironman is nowadays really about personal growth, or has it about becoming a glorified social status symbol?
It's a mixture of both. Many see others doing it and want to join in, but it has also become a status symbol.
The Interrogation Room
Q: Do you think technology and triathlon is making it more about money rather than athletic ability?
Yes, there's so much technology that people are trying to push out, which can be expensive and not necessarily improve performance.
