  • Shooting from the hip

Trent's background in agricultural keeps him grounded. Most Americans do not know where their food or energy comes from. Or, how it is produced. They just pick it off the shelf or plug it in. America is more technologically and environmentally advanced than any other western nation. You would'nt know it by the media or educational industrial complex. Americans like Trent are the most vilified by them. Keep to Trent and Rural Route Radio listening to the heartbeat of what makes America the larges... more

  • Ya know

Whoever the sheep farmer was on the Nov. 15th 2021 show needs to stop saying 'ya know'. Very lazy way to pause while you are talking and makes it sound like you 'ya know' don't know what you are talking about.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rural Route March 19, 2026 Dusty Backer the U.S. consumer needs to know about imported adulterated honey.
Q: Tell us how the honey system works, from harvest to sale.
Beekeepers harvest in the fall and sell wholesale in large barrels to packers, who then process, blend, and sell to stores; foreign honey is often blended, cheaper, and sold alongside domestic honey, which squeezes domestic prices.
Retired Border Patrol Agent David P. David Huebner is a candidate for the 3rd Congressional District of Nebraska. He explains why we have an "immigration" problem in the U.S. currently.
Q: What is your view on the influx of immigrants and refugee programs?
He argues that illegal activity should be stopped and questions the definition and management of refugees and diversity visas, advocating tighter controls and a focus on repairing the legal system rather than expanding current programs.
Rural Route Feb 27, 2026 Pastor Jon Brueggemann brings us the history of the Founding Fathers and Christianity.
Q: How important is the 'I believe' aspect of the FFA creed?
It's important because every kid has to find their own skills and passions, and that belief helps guide them.
Rural Route Feb 27, 2026 Pastor Jon Brueggemann brings us the history of the Founding Fathers and Christianity.
Q: What led to your decision to homeschool?
We knew nationally that the education system was a train wreck and that as Christian parents, there are just some biblical things that we wanted to include in our kids' education.
Rural Route Feb 17, 2026 Jay Truitt the "proposed" House Farm Bill 2026 has been posted.
Q: What is the involvement of USDA and Health and Human Services in the farm bill proposal?
The House committee drives the proposal, and it holds certain sections that get heard in other committees while the internal House Ag committee controls the discussion.
