  • A breath of fresh air among the Torah movement

Messiah Matters is like a breath of fresh air! They’ve made such a sweet space for listeners to bring their questions. Caleb and Rob make a wonderful team, as I very much appreciate Caleb’s boldness and Rob’s gentleness.

I’m so glad to have found these brothers in Christ who advocate for One Torah, while also reminding us that we have many brothers and sisters in Messiah who do not currently view the Torah the way we do. Until now, I’ve primarily seen people within the Torah movement disconnec... more

  • Highly Recommend

There are many voices out there in the Torah/Hebrew Christian/messianic movement and Torah Resource/Caleb Hegg and Rob VanHoff stick out as being excellent among them. They point out a lot of false teaching, answer listener questions, and bring up excellent topics related to followers of Jesus living out a life in imitation of Him in our modern age.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Show #555 – Moral Code
Q: Bryan asks about the manifestations of God beyond the Trinity and whether the Old Testament reveals God in other forms.
The host explains that the Trinity is a doctrinal framework used to describe the one God in three persons, and discusses the non-separability of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, while also addressing how various biblical appearances (e.g., Melchizedek, the burning bush) may reflect pre-incarnate forms that do not constitute separate beings within Godhead.
Show #546 – He’s Talking About You
Q: Why should we keep the commandments if we all end up in the same place in heaven?
Hegg emphasizes that we keep the commandments not for a ticket to heaven, but out of love for God and the desire to have a genuine relationship with Him.
Show #546 – He’s Talking About You
Q: If time allows, could you talk more about agency language as it relates to the Tanakh?
Hegg elaborates on agency language by discussing its connection to Caesar and Vassal treaties, explaining how these treaties illustrate relationships of power and representation in the biblical context.
Show #527 – As Often as You Eat It
Q: In previous episodes, when you have talked about who can partake in the Passover lamb, do you believe to partake means a person must be circumcised in order to eat the lamb versus participating in the sacrifice?
Yes, Caleb clarifies that to eat the Passover lamb, one must be circumcised to be a covenant member, highlighting the importance of ritual cleanliness as well.
Show #527 – As Often as You Eat It
Q: Do you have any advice or encouragement for people like me based on your experience and wisdom?
Caleb advises to establish family routines based on faith early on, and to ensure daily engagement with the Torah to build a solid foundation.
