How can these guys do top 10's when they know so little about the subjects. I downloaded some of them and was by no means an expert on the subjects but I was amazed about the inaccuracies. Please do some research (just 10 mins might do) and also clean up the messy production.

Simply the greatest podcast of all time. To be honest, this show means more to me than I can express in this text box.
I had finally given up hope on the show returning after 2 years, but Rob and Jon finally came back...for a few months. I think it's safe to say the show is dead now.
I hope life is great in Israel for Jon, and I'll never stop finding Rob's constant Facebook updates funny. Best of luck to both of you, you're both amazing guys.

It is simply two guys reading lists of random top tens into the internet, and some funny british banter thrown in for good measure. Who knows what insanity made them think it would work?
But, quite simply it does. I've read someone comparing the podcast to overhearing two guys at the pub, but I for one like that about it.
If I wanted to hear amazing production value and people who know what they are talking about I'd tune into radio4, but how dull would that be.

This "first wave" podcast has only garnered such good reviews due to the lack of competition at the time.
Two inarticulate, uneducated bores reading out sent in top ten lists (nope, they don't even compile the lists themselves) and contributing nothing themselves. They make grand statements with no evidence or compelling argument. It's like overhearing a couple of teenagers on the bus. Painful.

Just about the greatest podcast around (of course along with Top of the Pods - more up-to-date material). Admitting to being amateur really doesn't let the show down, and the way that they interact with the audience through listener-written lists creates the feeling of a real "blokes down the pub" chat. The only one let-down of TOTP Gold is that it is very rarely updated, so, of course, head over to Top of the Pods.

If you have any doubts about getting this podcast, at least listen to it for the great English accents! I love this podcast, and if you give it a chance I'm sure you will too. They have interesting topics and their consant bantering back and forth os so amusing to listen to. Just listen to one podcast, you'll be hooked.

Yeeeeeah, I downloaded a few of these podcasts due to the fantastic reviews they've had. However I found that they didn't really fall under the category of "Comedy". None of it struck me as particularly amusing or entertaining. If you like techical chats about PC's/Mac's/Spreadsheets then this would be the podcast for you. But this IS NOT comedy at all and why these podcast have attracted fantastic reviews...I really don't know. Perhaps the reviews have been over inflated by their friends/family... more
