There is a lot of arguing online about lip pursing vs tongue blocking on harmonica. As a beginner harmonica player I think it is really important that you understand the difference between the two and why you might want to learn both. In this episode... more

A lot of people think that they don’t like the Blues or that they just want to play a few simple tunes on the harmonica BUT I think that everyone should learn Blues Harmonica and this episode will tell you exactly why.

I’m so glad I found this podcast as I’m starting on the harmonica. It is inspiring and educational. It is well structured and the interviews are so well balanced with a real conversation feel. Tomlin is great answering questions and explaining concepts that sounded hard hearing from others. The episodes with students are so good to show that many people are in the same boat and it is inspiring to hear their journey. Well done, I’m hooked, thank you!
Tomlin is great! He is a friendly, kind, charismatic and interesting interviewer. He is able to get the world’s best harmonica players as guests. He is a great fan and a great teacher at the same time. I have listened to every podcast and I look forward to each new episode. I always learn something new. Sometimes the geeky technical stuff is way over my head. I’m always amazed at the stuff happening in the world that I was not aware of, including harmonica theory. Highly recommend if you have an... more
Interesting guests and a range of lessons, techniques and ideas for playing harmonica. A great accompaniment for learning the instrument
Great podcast for harmonica players! Perfect for listening in the car and supplementing what I watch on YouTube. Keep it up. More guests!
Harping hub of the future :)
I’m hooked on it and listening to one a day. I love it, but for me, it would be even better if he cut down the covid 19 talk (so drained from hearing about it), discussed the equipment the players use (harmonica, tunings, mic, amp), and tightened it up a little on the non-harmonica chit-chat. That said, I’ll listen to every episode while on the subway. Fantastic gift to the community.
A really interesting podcast. It’s good to know how people get into harping and how they overcome obstacles to progress. Tomlin is a very good interviewer. More please.
To my knowledge, nothing quite like this has ever been done. Harmonica grandmasters from around the world sharing in free form, wherever the conversation takes them, talking about whatever is on their mind. Absolutely priceless. The insights, stories, and personal philosophies shared will benefit players of any and all levels!!!
I’m so glad I stumbled across this podcast - I’m enjoying it so much- has given me so many ideas and things to check out - we were meant to be going to Edinburgh this August but have had to cancel now - I didn’t even know Tomlin had a harmonica workshop in Edinburgh - if we rebook next year will have to try to make it ! I was wondering what month it will be in ?
Just moved to say thank you Tomlin.
As a Harmonica fan, Tomlin fills all my needs.
He is a great teacher and interviewer, interviewing the best people in the business.
I highly recommed listening to all the Podcasts here.

Calum.
Enjoy Harmonica.
My wife bought me a Hohner Blues Harp a few years ago and I was timid in my 1st attempt to learn the instrument even though I can play 2 other instruments. The lockdown made trying again an obvious choice and I am having so much fun! Tomlin & Adam Gussow’s lessons were my go-to from the beginning so I was naturally excited about the podcast. I have always been a huge Blues fan but guitar was my focus and I never did a deep dive into learning about the great Harmonica players until now. Furthermo... more
Great laid back interviews. Very informative and enjoyable, Tomlin keeps a good pace and is balancing the guests very well.
I dig listening to Jason’s harp playing but I Love listening to Jason speak , the guy is so uninhabited and open with his knowledge of the instrument and his life’s journey that he brings you into the room with him , What a cool human soul , Thanks for bringing us this podcast Tomlin and thank you Jason for being you
I went to U.K. to Tomlin’s Workshop and spend a week before with Tomlin’s teaching . This gentleman is a gift to us . He listens and gives all he can to help . His heart is in it . Thank you Tomlin for the wonderful time I spent there with you . Truly one of my life’s journey I will never forget

I love this podcast. As someone brand new to the world of harmonicas, I’ve been doing a deep dive into the tin sandwich. One of the first teachers I came across on YouTube was Tomlin. I like his easy-going style, so I was delighted to discover this podcast whilst searching for anything related to the harmonica on Apple.
Tomlin is a terrific interview: humble with the people he interviews and clearly passionate about the subject. He lets his guests go on at length without interrupting them. When... more
