This trainer doesn’t have much knowledge in regards to movement paths and how muscle is obtained. It’s explaining on how exercises are executed is poor and not science backed.

  • Worthy of your time

I actually heard about this podcast through instagram the other day, and decided to listen to an episode.

I’m actually a few episodes in, and it’s pretty interesting to learn about Tom’s background and why he’s involved in the fitness industry. It’s really cool to know that he’s determined to help people achieve their fitness goals and that in turn might help those people achieve other goals in their personal lives.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#209 Earn the Right to Train Hard
Q: How do you program lacking muscle groups?
Identify the muscle and its recovery profile, then raise volume on that muscle with manageable intensity, and adjust frequency so that you're training it more often but without overreaching. Use a mix of shorter, higher-effort sessions and lighter, frequent work to safely stimulate growth.
#174 Balancing Strength, Hypertrophy & Recovery
Q: What's the best way to bring up a weak point without wrecking overall recovery?
Increase frequency for that muscle group in a controlled way, reduce per-set intensity if needed, and ensure total weekly volume stays within recovery limits; prioritize large-movement compounds for overall mass while addressing weak points with targeted, lower-fatigue work when recovery allows.
#174 Balancing Strength, Hypertrophy & Recovery
Q: How do you balance the strength and hypertrophy in this program?
The program is designed to balance strength and hypertrophy by using heavy doubles to drive strength progress and then non-failure, high-volume rep work on accessory lifts to drive hypertrophy, with rest-pauses extending sets and built-in deloads to manage recovery.
#172 Fasting and Feet
Q: what's your process for correcting muscle imbalances?
Treat imbalances with a structured approach: adjust volume, frequency, and intensity for the lagging part, train it more often with lighter loads, and ensure a balanced plan that allows recovery while progressively challenging the weaker area.
#172 Fasting and Feet
Q: are there training exercises that bring out your abs?
Ab definition comes from both training frequency and functional core work; prioritize stability and full contraction with movements like planks, side planks, and anti-rotation exercises, while using abdominal progressions that support posture rather than simply adding volume.
