The beginning was amazing. A lot of references to the occult, strange things, and a woman you knew was going to become very evil. I loved it. But it seemed to peak in intensity about halfway through and then dwindled off after that to a disappointing end. As another reviewer mentioned, this has very little to do with the occult or supernatural other than intimating that this will be the theme of the show. But it’s not. The material is there and could have been interesting, but it’s just not that well done.
Poor podcasting. Obviously no one wanted to talk to them because they are hacks. The occult has nothing to do with it. Cheap ploy for clicks.
As someone with many years of experience in Occult Orders, I can confirm that this sort of thing happens frequently. Walking cases of Borderline Personality Disorder wedge their way in and ruin everything. It’s nice to hear Alfred has somewhat recovered from this harrowing experience.
This story feels very thorough, respectfully written, and good reminder to always be looking out for your loved ones. Hopefully this kind of psychosis is rare, but it's good to keep an eye out for it.

Listeners can expect a gripping exploration of a true story involving the intricate dynamics between an elderly tarot expert and a much younger guest who initially appears to bring companionship but quickly morphs into a tale of manipulation and coercive control. Central to the narrative are themes of magic and the psychic realm, intertwined with serious issues of domestic abuse and elder protection, as Alfred Douglas finds himself increasingly isolated from his family under Maura's influence. The storytelling probes the darker side of human relationships, revealing the psychological battles that ensue and the heartbreaking reality of neglect and victimization as his loved ones document their concerns about his safety and wellbeing.
