  • I never write reviews

Tim Blackwell, the new age Molly Meldrum, can do no wrong. Absolutely love the first episode of this podcast and can’t wait to see who the next guests will be. Starting off the podcast series with Yungblud is such a wholesome move, the chemistry between them is natural and easy to listen to and I love that Tim has been getting around Yungblud since his inception, a fitti... more

Sam and the others met at university and in Adelaide's tight-knit local scene; their shared admiration for each other's work brought them together to form Any Young Mechanic.
Any Young Mechanic
Q: What was the reasoning behind releasing the album without edits and relying on a live studio take?
They chose a live, no-edits approach to preserve spontaneity and authenticity, prioritizing the raw energy and organic feel of their performances over held-back studio polish.
Dobby
Q: Do you give yourself rules or do you just let it flow in the creative process?
In this project I followed whatever served the story, with dedicated daily time rather than a rigid rule, and allowed the process to be driven by the narrative needs of the album.
Dobby
Q: Can you give me a little idea of what that time-travel concept is in a nutshell?
It's a journey back to my 14-year-old self, a fearless kid who loved hip-hop and wanted to be a rapper, and the album lets that younger voice confront the older me, learning from each other.
