  • Best Finance Podcast

I don’t typically listen to finance podcasts because of my lack of bandwidth and the fact that I’m already plugged into the market-moving research processes of many top institutional investors around the world.

When I do, however, find time to review finance podcasts, I always start with Thoughtful Money. Adam Taggart has put together the best collection of guests and discussions that I've seen anywhere in the finance podcast ecosystem. The only shows that I think rival what Adam has built are... more

  • Ads wayyyy too loud

While I enjoy some of the guests and opinions expressed, I often have to quit shows early because the ads are two to three times as loud as to content.

  • Faber vs Johnson

Faber made more sense than Johnson on most points…..But I must thank Faber for coming right out and saying it: Trump is a Buffoon. Everybody in the U.S. is afraid to point out the obvious.

Once Trump is gone, nobody will admit to supporting him. The Trump voter will be placed on the endangered species registry.

Actually, Trump will destroy most of Johnson’s argument as to American advantages.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What's More Likely: A Rally Or Rout From Here? | New Harbor Financial
Q: Is it more likely that the market continues higher in a final rally or collapses in a rout from current levels?
The hosts and guests suggest that while a last upward move is possible, the dominant view is that risk is increasing and a meaningful correction or drawn-out bear phase could occur, making hedging and risk management prudent.
Longtime Bull Sees "High" Risk Of Market Correction Soon | Darius Dale
Q: How should investors position themselves given the possible regime changes discussed?
Investors should stay nimble and focus on risk management across evolving market regimes, leveraging the Kiss and Dr. Mo framework to adapt portfolios quickly as task forces and data evolve. The emphasis is on avoiding left-tail risk, being ready to de-risk if data points signal tightening, and using regime-aware signals to stay on the right side of market risk.
Longtime Bull Sees "High" Risk Of Market Correction Soon | Darius Dale
Q: What is your interpretation of the latest Fed posture and how might it signal future policy moves?
The guest suggests that the Fed may withhold aggressive hikes for now to assess how much inflation is energy-driven versus core, and that the balance sheet could play a pivotal role in tightening or loosening policy going forward. He emphasizes the potential for a dovish shift later in the year driven by the task forces, but cautions that a still hawkish near term balance sheet stance could keep risk assets volatile.
"Crash Pricing" Setting In As Distressed Home Sellers Capitulate | Nick Gerli, Reventure
Q: So Nick, how are you doing today?
I'm doing well, and I'm excited to discuss how the market is evolving and where opportunities may lie as conditions shift.
Fourth Turning To Turn The Dollar Into A Wrecking Ball? | George Gammon
Q: You've got some thoughts about the dollar, especially versus a lot of the Asian currencies. Could you lay out your thesis for listeners?
The thesis is that the dollar's strength is not just a price level; it represents a systemic constraint that can impose instability on trading partners, drive exchange rates, and create knock-on effects through commodity pricing and global debt dynamics. The dollar functions as both a balance-sheet asset and a liability, because dollars are created and loaned into existence, which creates ongoing demand for dollars globally.
