  • Great. When it isn’t showcasing foreign state misinformation

Usually great, but occasionally allows guests to spout misinformation and malinformation (Simon Hunt for example, who doesn’t even understand the rivalry between Sunni and Shia gulf states).

  • More sales and low-qual guests

I miss Brodrovics. He was a better interviewer. Guests are more hit and miss lately — but today’s 80yo man yelling at clouds?? Don’t care about his politics, that’s not why I’m here, but Gerald Celente is so insufferable that I couldn’t make it to his forecasts. NEXT…

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Lobo Tiggre: Why There’s Not A Single Gold Mining Stock I Would Buy Today
Q: What exactly should an investor look for in a shopping list during a significant drawdown in gold stocks?
He suggests focusing on the strongest, most takeover-worthy assets with size and district-scale potential, favoring blue chips on one end and high-alpha picks on the other, and being prepared to buy when they trade on deep discounts.
Lobo Tiggre: Why There’s Not A Single Gold Mining Stock I Would Buy Today
Q: Should one still conceptualize this as a bull market given the fundamental drivers like central bank buying and debasement?
Yes, but the guest emphasizes that while the long-term trend remains bullish, the current moment is crucial for timing and risk management; he would not buy today and stresses waiting for a clearer, cheaper entry, potentially sub-$3,000 gold.
Rory Johnston: What Everyone Is Getting Wrong About The Oil Price Amidst Iran War
Q: What is your current assessment of demand and supply dynamics in energy markets and has the picture changed with the restart of facilities in the Middle East?
The market has swung between oversupply and tightness, driven by a complex mix of Middle East supply resumption, shifting Chinese demand, and storage dynamics. We saw a mini-glut followed by rapid reversals, with time spreads flipping from backwardation to contango and back as supply and demand recalibrate in real time.
Steve Hanke: What Everyone Is Getting Wrong on Iran War, The Commodity Super Cycle & Gold
Q: What is on your radar right now in the energy and financial markets?
Key developments include the evolving conflicts around Iran and Ukraine, supply disruptions, and the interaction of inventory levels with backwardation, which together shape prices and strategic investment opportunities. The guest emphasizes that central bank activity, particularly gold purchases, and policy expectations around inflation and the dollar profoundly influence both gold and oil markets.
Dr. Nomi Prins: The Greatest Opportunities in Resources, Right Now | Silver, Uranium & Oil
Q: Where do you currently think the greatest opportunity set can be found right now?
The greatest opportunities are in silver given the supply gap and in pure-play silver miners, with uranium and copper also presenting strong upside as contracts and physical demand support prices; energy equities tied to oil have potential as markets normalize after volatile headlines.
