  • ABC should be for everyone

This show, like a lot of the ABC reflects middle and upper middle class white people in the workplace. It has zero relevance to working class people who are often trapped in their workplace by the middle and upper middle class. Burnout, for example, happens to retail workers, receptionists and warehouse workers. Only they often have little choice but to continue to work. Why not once in while speak with a working class worker instead of Uni educated, American workplace importer managers who ofte... more

  • Good Show, Slogan not so good

I didn’t think I’d find this show interesting but I do. But thank God you got rid of that cringeworthy old slogan, “Work it baby.’ Awful. The new one is better but not better than having none at all. An extra star rating if you drop it!

  • Authentic Self

This episode is reason enough to unsubscribe. I’d consider this to be pro employer messaging and almost propaganda from the guest (older generation) to dismiss the new younger coming in. This will only cause further division and issues in the world. Do better.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Tackle overwhelm with the 'Teamwork Doctor'
Q: What are drawbridge questions and why are they effective?
Drawbridge questions are open-ended, high-level inquiries about what is at stake for a person, which helps surface core motivations and concerns in a non-threatening way, making emotions work for problem-solving rather than derailment.
Tackle overwhelm with the 'Teamwork Doctor'
Q: How do you prevent managers from turning into therapists while still supporting their teams?
Managers should set boundaries, avoid treating themselves as therapists, and instead use structured questions and performance-focused discussions to surface emotions and needs without crossing into therapeutic territory.
Tackle overwhelm with the 'Teamwork Doctor'
Q: Why is it useful to focus at the team level for an intervention when it comes to thought load?
Because most meaningful work requires collaboration, and teams are where cognitive and emotional demands overlap; addressing thoughtload at the team level helps protect the group's ability to function, not just individuals, and improves overall coordination and outcomes.
Don't be left out in the cold: why you should care about your organisation’s strategy
Q: Your company just announced a new strategy. Do you pay attention to the slideshow that includes words like agility and innovation and think about ways you can align your team?
The conversation shifts from the offsite ritual to practical engagement; strategies fail when not implemented, so teams should co-create and stay aligned through ongoing dialogue and clear, coherent communication.
Why are we so bad at onboarding?
Q: How do you define onboarding academically and in practical terms?
Onboarding is the process of moving someone from an external to an internal role within the organization, guided by a framework that emphasizes early connection, clarity about expectations, and ongoing support rather than a one-off orientation.
