  • Not actually about startups!

Check out the episode titles. They are related to diverse popular topics of the day (big tech, new tech, news), but not really about startups.

  • It’s like candy for your ears

These guys are A1! I’ve been listening for almost 3 years now, and I can confirm the show is gold. The content they discuss is diverse, but they always discuss things related to the startup ecosystem in almost every episode. One thing I’ve really appreciated more and more is their talent for having engaging discussions with startup founders; you can tell they care.

  • Startup Virgin to a VC expert

Living in the Bay Area, you always around start up “culture” and everyone is a techbro & they seem so full of it.

But listening to Jason (& Alex now) has been such a huge positive. His ability to cut through the noise and make sense of the signal is almost ‘superhuman’ 😉

I’ve learned so much and has made me so much smarter on the whole eco system.

Keep up the good work brother !

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Global Expansion of Self-Driving Vehicles
Q: When will we be able to order coffees from AVs as general commerce on the road?
The panelists suggest that autonomous commerce will roll out progressively across multiple form factors, starting with existing pilots and then expanding through partnerships and orchestration layers, with growth paced by regulatory and infrastructure readiness.
Are Brain-Computer Interfaces Actually Ready for Humans?
Q: How invasive is the implantation and how is power delivered to the implant?
The surgery involves an incision in the scalp and placing a device on the brain surface with a wireless power system delivered inductively from a vest; data are transmitted wirelessly as infrared signals, keeping the implant under the skin.
Are Brain-Computer Interfaces Actually Ready for Humans?
Q: What is the training process like for decoding neural signals to understand what a person wants to say or do?
Training involves having the patient think or attempt sentences while the system records neural activity; by pairing neural patterns with intended sentences, a decoder is built to map neural activity to spoken output.
Are Brain-Computer Interfaces Actually Ready for Humans?
Q: Tell me about your brain computer interface and how it works, if you don't mind.
The device is implantable to access high-resolution neural signals; tiny micro-wires near neurons record activity, which is then decoded into actionable commands for a computer, enabling people who cannot speak to communicate through thought-to-text pathways.
The Drone Company Everyone Thought Was Illegal (Now Worth $4B+) | E2265
Q: What prompted the acquisition of Rapportive by LinkedIn and how did it unfold?
Rapportive's strong user engagement and integration with LinkedIn profiles made it a highly desirable acquisition target; after a long, arduous fundraising process, a deal with LinkedIn emerged, though negotiations included a poison pill option that was ultimately walked away from before sealing a different path forward.
