Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Simpsons and Steamed Hams w/Bill Oakley
Q: What was your approach to the infamous 'Who Shot Mr. Burns?' storyline, and how did the two-parter come together?
The story idea originated from a desire to create a big mystery that could stretch over two episodes, with a story conference shaping the concept, then Josh and I outlining and writing the script together; it was embraced by the team early on and developed into a structured two-part event.
Why is Moana? How to make an Indie Game! More!
Q: What are the challenges of a small team and how do you handle leadership?
In a small team you're the go‑to expert for many things, so leadership is about owning decisions, embracing the reality that you can't be precious about every detail, and shipping to learn from real player feedback.
Why is Moana? How to make an Indie Game! More!
Q: So where do you start with Rebel Core, story or mechanics?
We started with mechanics to establish the core experience, then allowed the story to grow around that framework, using a simple, two-second gameplay cell as a clear signal of what the game is.
Darkwing Duck Is Back! With creator Tad Stones
Q: What was the call like when the Darkwing Gargoyles crossover idea was floated and how did it come about?
The idea originated from publishers and collaborators who suggested a crossover; Tad explains that getting Disney's formal approval was a process, but the invitation to discuss it came through industry connections and a belief that Greg Wiseman and Tad should collaborate, contingent on Disney's consent.
