  • Psych Pearls

As a new practicing PMHNP, I am so thankful I came across this gem of a podcast! Full of useful insight and information as well as giving me so many psych pearls that might have been learned the hard way. Thank you Dr. Armstrong for your time and dedication to make each episode informative and free without ads/conflicts of interest. I listen daily on my way to work and appreciate your expertise. As you said, psychiatry is both a science and an art. Thanks again!!

  • Adult ADHD

Great show generally, but the adult ADHD guest seemed to be over-pathologizing the human condition and adding himself into the 'I have ADHD, too' despite being super successful category. I think this does a lot of disservice because I truly believe that we all hate, drag our feet and avoid doing things that are boring, or not interesting to us. • Tangential, self aggrandizing, and reductionistic

Rule #1 in life: don’t take yourself too seriously (it’s not punk rock)

This guy violates that rule :/

Lots of tangents about himself. Lots of “holier than thou” content. “I do this right and they do it wrong, aren’t I smart…” … k

Most of all it’s biologically reductionistic and risks tricking providers and patients into thinking mental illness is nothing more than “chemical imbalances.”
