  • Legacy Media Propaganda

Wow. I can’t believe my tax dollars pay for this. I live on Vancouver Island and have always had this podcast in my news. But in the past few weeks they’ve covered some political issues I’m very informed on. The left-wing bias is stunning. I’ll continue listening so I can debunk the misinformation my friends and family are getting from this.

  • Our Island or Province ?

Based on your ads for this program I was hoping for very local Island coverage, but, alas, it’s mostly provincial. Salmon? Forestry? Where are the issues actual listeners are actually concerned with - unwanted glass towers going up in our neighborhoods, intrusive bike lanes in Victoria where most of the population will never bicycle, huge increases in noise and traffic and loss of green spaces in places we chose to live for their peace and quiet. Please consider refocussing to local issues.

  • hmm

The audio ad for this show talks about how other BC shows centre Vancouver, claims "we do things differently," and immediately shares 3 examples from south of Cowichan Valley. Not so different after all, if the ad is anything to go by.

  • BCTF advertising is disappointing

Good podcast, but offensive to hear paid advertising by the BCTF interspersed in this podcast episode on education

Island teens tell First Nations stories, old and new
Q: Do you think about the value of sharing these stories with yourselves and in the classes that you're in, but also with your friends and neighbors who aren't Indigenous, who are also living here in this space, about why it might help to tell those stories, or if you'd like them to hear them?
Yes, it's important to expand reach beyond just Indigenous spaces; sharing stories helps non-Indigenous people understand history, land connections, and cultural practices, and it can foster respect and curiosity when presented in a respectful, contextual way.
