Dan Jones brings you the story of the Yorkist King, Edward IV – tall, golden, ferocious – a young king who wins his throne on the battlefield and then destabilises it in the bedroom. His secret marriage to Elizabeth Woodvi... more

Dan decided to show up to Bill Maher’s show and call him a “genius” on Instagram. He later blocked me for calling him out for it. He just lost a subscriber for supporting a bigot and transphobe like Bill Maher.
Love love love this show. In fact I’ve listened to almost all the seasons twice and I’m a paying supporter. However, this particular series of Greatest Fails is completely devoid of the incredible storytelling that makes this show so captivating. It briefly skims topics with little history and context and if you’re not already familiar with some of the events they discuss you will probably find yourself confused. Sorry Dan, not this one. I’ll be waiting for the next season.
I love this podcast so much that I relisten to the first seasons constantly. I can’t listen to the Iron King 😭😭😭 Dans narration is just the greatest
I’m a loyal follower to this amazing podcast through all nine seasons. However, in my opinion season 10 is way below the usual high standards of Dan Jones. The conversations are politically charged for my taste and are just outright boring. I listened grudgingly to the first two episodes and stopped midway through the third episode. Sorry Dan, I gave up on this season, but hoping for better things from you in the near future.
While the main narrative is great and very engaging, I just can not get into this “Greatest Fails” series. It plays but I don’t listen and at the end have no idea what was talked about. It’s just not very interesting.

The series delves into the late medieval crisis that shaped England and France, tracing Henry VI's fragile, infant-led reign amid mounting noble feuds, political intrigue, and social upheaval. Narratives weave together the Wars of the Roses, the Yorkist–Lancastrian power struggles, and the shifting loyalties that followed Henry V's death, with recurring threads around Margaret of Anjou, Joan of Arc, and the spectral shadow of royal madness and witchcraft. The host's storytelling emphasizes social context, court politics, and battlefield moments, offering a vivid arc from fragile kingship to open civil war while highlighting how propaganda, ritual, and diplomacy shaped public perception and outcomes. The show is notable for a cinematic, char... more
