I’m Gavin Newsom.

And, it’s time to have a conversation. It’s time to have honest discussions with people that agree AND disagree with us.

It's time to answer the hard questions and be open to criticism, and debate without demeaning or dehumanizing one other.

I will be doing just that on my new podcast – inviting people on who I deeply disagree with to talk about the most pressing issues of the... more

  • Social Media Lies

Zuck and Musk own social media. They are not stopping state-sponsored influence campaigns from China and Russia. They are not removing AI generated bots. They are amplifying lies about the Democratic Party. This is why the Dems have low approval. Social Media is not a reliable source of news.

The Dems invested in healthcare, refused to Tariff Americans, had a humane immigration bill, never kill protesters, keep us out of war, and impose fair taxes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

And, This Is What To Make Of A Life With Author Jim Collins
Q: How did you architect the research process at the start, especially the pairing method?
Newsom asks about the pairing approach; Collins explains he wanted to pair people who faced similar cliffs and trace their lives before, through, and after those cliffs to distill universal patterns of renewal and encodings, which required extensive fieldwork and matching of life stories.
And, This Is What To Make Of A Life With Author Jim Collins
Q: What was the inspiration for this book and what got you into this ten-year journey?
Collins describes the seeds in Joanne's cliff, John Gardner's self-renewal philosophy, and the idea of studying how people stay renewed after life-changing events. He explains that the project began from a question about how people renew themselves across decades and how to learn from pairs facing similar cliff events, ultimately shaping What to Make of a Life.
And, This Is How Social Media Will Decide the Next Election With David Pakman
Q: What's your take on the central role of algorithms in politics and whether authorities should regulate them more?
Regulation should aim to maximize the good while limiting the bad, with emphasis on media literacy and transparent incentives, rather than attempting to shut down platforms outright.
And, This Is How Social Media Will Decide the Next Election With David Pakman
Q: Do you believe in a top-down versus bottom-up approach to political organizing, and how does that influence strategy today?
A balance is needed; bottom-up, grassroots energy can propel campaigns, but top-down coordination and clear messaging help translate that energy into tangible policy wins and execution.
And, This Is How Social Media Will Decide the Next Election With David Pakman
Q: At the same time, it has echoes of today; what were the big issues you remember when you started this work 21 years ago?
The early work focused on the Iraq War, where the political landscape and media coverage shaped the direction of the show, with a long trajectory toward understanding how party narratives and media ecosystems evolved.
