  • Revelation w/ Dr. Thomas Schreiner

This episode was great! I used Dr. Schreiner’s CSB commentary on 1-2 Peter and Jude in a sermon class we have been doing for the past few years at church. It was really cool to hear him reference the theme of exiles and sojourners from 1 Peter. I definitely agree with Greg that Dr. Schreiner’s humility is what really makes his work special.

I enjoy listening to your episodes anyway because of the variety of topics and general lighthearted vibe but this ep was a special one. Thank you guys for ... more

  • This is a wonderful listen to encourage me. I love that Greg is a genuine person who loves Jesus. He isn't just another legalistic pastor saying what to do/not do. I am so grateful for the love centered conversation between Nathan and Greg every Tuesday to lift my work day!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Re-release: Is God Anti-Gay?
Q: Do you feel that deliverance from same-sex attraction urges and impulses is guaranteed in the gospel?
No, I think we're promised God will help us stand up under temptation, but not that temptation will be removed.
Re-release: Is God Anti-Gay?
Q: Could you give us a brief definition of the terms same-sex attraction and gay?
Same-sex attraction refers to feelings for the same sex, while being gay often means identifying these feelings as central to one's identity.
Book Month: Tolkien
Q: What would you recommend?
I would say, yeah, go to The Hobbit, because The Hobbit is a good introduction into this world.
A Walk Through the New Testament: Revelation
Q: Why is Revelation so confusing?
The confusion stems from the genre of apocalyptic literature, which is full of symbols, visions, layered meaning, and was intended as a comfort through a medium that no longer is in usage that we don't fully understand.
A Walk Through the New Testament: Revelation
Q: What is the big idea of Revelation?
If you were going to read those, the main idea of revelation is that Jesus wins, evil loses, and the takeaway of action is to stay faithful.
