  • Love ya!

Thank you Zan and team. I genuinely feel like you guys are my cheerleaders. No background in homeschooling, the Lord has led us to start this legacy for our family. We are growing in our support system of fellow homeschoolers but our family thinks we are crazy. The fruit of our efforts to serve God as He guides, I pray will be a great testimony to them. My husband works in the public school system and it is rough. Thanks for fighting then and continuing now. May we honor the sacrifices of other... more

Afraid to Homeschool High School? Don’t Miss the Best Part! | Beth Martin | Ep. 209
Q: Tell us a little bit about your family and your journey into homeschooling.
Beth describes how they moved from a traditional public education background into homeschooling after recognizing peace in pursuing their oldest child's education, embarking on a low-profile start in 1998 and gradually building a high school-focused approach through co-ops and local organizations.
Your Child Has a Diagnosis. Now What? | Beth Moore | Ep. 207
Q: Tell us what SEP, IEP, and 504 are, and whether they are necessary or important in homeschooling.
The IEP is an individualized educational plan typically used in public schools with a team approach; a 504 plan covers medical-type needs; in homeschooling, an SCP (Student Educational Plan) can be created by the family to document diagnosis and necessary accommodations, sometimes supported by associations or templates. These plans help formalize supports and accommodations tailored to the child's needs.

Community erosion, increased anonymity, and heavy use of smartphones and social media have reduced real-world connection, making people feel isolated and more reactive, especially in younger generations.

Q: Do you have a Bible verse or passage that has guided your work?
Yes, 1 John 2 speaks to having an advocate before the Father, which underpins the mission of HSLDA as advocates for homeschooling families.
