  • Great advice, too much advertising

The host has so much wisdom but I often end up turning it off because of her constant advertising of the restoration home community. It is truly distracting and makes me feel like a product.

  • So much to glean and yet there’s an ease

You don’t leave feeling overwhelmed or ill-equipped. Though you may feel challenged you’re left with a sense of abundance in supply and hope. I feel like everything Jennifer touches is left with the years of consecration and anointing. So powerful. Thank you.

  • Boundaries and Timing

Understanding the importance of boundaries and timing - it's a difficult balance but so necessary for living a full and healthy life. Enjoyed the episode on Finding Your Yes and No - even though I don't have children. But I could totally relate to the need for boundaries and understanding that life comes in seasons. Great podcast!!

  • Breath of fresh air

Thank you for helping both share important topics but also in a place of valuing slow and intentional Christ centered family. I feel motivated but still peace. Most homeschool podcasts can breed anxiety of not being good enough. Thank you for the beautiful life and wisdom you share.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Beyond Keeping House: How Hospitality Transforms Your Homeschool with Mystie Winckler
Q: What are the first steps a busy mom should take to practice hospitality?
Start with small, concrete steps: make sure the bathroom is clean, provide a comfortable seating area, and offer a refreshment to guests. Build from there by inviting people into your natural family life and routines, so hospitality feels like a continuation of everyday life rather than an added performance.
Overcoming Fear & Finding Freedom from Mom Guilt with Sarah Walton
Q: What practices have helped you stay grounded under extreme pressure?
She shares a combination of spiritual disciplines (trusting God, forgiving oneself, prayer) and practical tools (nervous system regulation, breathing techniques, grounding in creation, supplements when needed) as essential to maintaining peace and resilience.
Overcoming Fear & Finding Freedom from Mom Guilt with Sarah Walton
Q: What led you and Kristen to write a book about motherhood in the trenches?
Sarah explains that their earlier work Hope When It Hurts contrasted with their current season of parenting young children, chronic illness, and a difficult family journey, which inspired a focus on how God meets people in the realities of pain and fatigue, leading to their new collaboration about motherhood in the trenches.
Your Children are Going to be Okay with Abbey Wedgeworth
Q: How can parents balance different parenting methods without losing sight of the gospel?
The host and Abbey argue that faith in Jesus should anchor parenting decisions, and methods should serve the gospel rather than control outcomes; community and prayer help keep this balance.
Your Children are Going to be Okay with Abbey Wedgeworth
Q: What led Abbey to write Help! I'm Ruining My Kids?
Abbey explains that many moms worry about doing enough and not harming their children, and her book arose from wanting to validate those fears while offering gospel-centered guidance and practical parenting approaches.
