The analysis from Nate Tice is phenomenal. Love listening to it. Two criticisms: 1) They don’t talk about Jalen Hurts like he’s limited. They talk about him like it’s actually painful to even say his name out loud. 2) Nate, please monitor your usage of the word ‘kinda’. It’s every other word.

  • Football 301 is the most informative and least performative football pod out

I listen to almost exclusively football podcasts but this is by far the best one. Less about providing the listener with en vogue coaching lingo or film review with questionable conclusions and questionable data finds. More about breaking down concepts on both sides of the ball with someone that has a unique familiarity with coaching trees and lineage. Really deep insights into what nfl coaches and executives are looking for and asking for in the players and units on every team in the league. Yo... more

  • Losing patience

I’ve listened to this show since the Terez days. Andrew, you’re killing this show. LET OTHER PEOPLE TALK. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I miss Fitz.

  • Still Like It But…

I like Andrew Siciliano but there are a few things he does that are annoying. Mainly he is always talking over the other hosts. It happens a lot.

I miss Jason Fitz. He had great chemistry with the other hosts that is now lacking. Glad he still fills in from time to time.

I don’t like the player interviews during the middle of the podcast now. They’re immediate fast forward. I do joy find them interesting. They bog things down.

I miss the weekly recap show. Now they just talk about 2-3 game... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AFC East DEEP DIVE: Can Bills re-take the throne? X-factors, win totals, bold predictions | Football 301
Q: What's your take on the Dolphins' offensive design under Slowik and the overall pass-catching group?
The hosts acknowledge Slowik's mixed track record but suggest there is potential to elevate the run game and pace a more cohesive, explosive attack with the new receivers and the line's upgrade, while tempering expectations.
AFC East DEEP DIVE: Can Bills re-take the throne? X-factors, win totals, bold predictions | Football 301
Q: What is the one thing you're focusing on this season for the Bills offense?
Matt Harmon highlights the need for a clear next step beyond the current mesh-based approach, emphasizing better layering of the run game under center and more aggressive use of deep shots with DJ Moore to unlock the offense.
Future of the NFL: this is how the game is evolving with Domonique Foxworth | Football 301
Q: What are the trade-offs of making defenses more versatile and aggressive?
The guests discuss balancing innovation and risk, noting that more complex schemes require players to be cross-trained and comfortable in multiple roles to avoid busts and to maintain alignment with the offense's shifting tactics.
Future of the NFL: this is how the game is evolving with Domonique Foxworth | Football 301
Q: How has the role of defensive players evolved with new schemes and on-field autonomy?
Foxworth explains that safeties have become the on-field captains, with greater authority to adjust plays in response to what they read pre-snap and post-snap, leading to a more dynamic and adaptive defense.
7 developing trends that could CHANGE the NFL + where will Brendan Sorsby land? feat. Bill Barnwell | Football 301
Q: For you, how would you rank or put in order the teams that should be most interested in a quarterback added via the supplemental route?
Bill and Nate discuss teams with low win totals, teams with draft capital to spare, and those at a quarterback crossroads (bottom-half of rounds, or teams with uncertain long-term plans). They emphasize that teams with flexible capital and a clear quarterback timeline—like the Steelers or Eagles—could be more aggressive, while others may wait for 2027 offerings if they're confident in their current roster.
