  • Every episode... That's how I listen to Carl Pullein's "Your Time, Your Way." Not selectively, not occasionally. Every single damn one 😁 As someone who spent years running on hustle fumes, finding a voice that speaks clearly and practically about time organisation has been genuinely useful to my life. Carl doesn't preach one method or push a rigid system on you. He gives you options, lets you test what canwork, and trusts you to figure out the rest. Like the professional you are 🧡

  • Practical and Actionable tips every week!

After listening to the podcast for a year and reading the book, I can say that Carl Pullein offers one of the most practical productivity frameworks out there. The podcast keeps me on track week-to-week with implementable tips, while the book provides the solid foundation needed to build a system that lasts. I’m much more aware of my 'time leaks' now and feel more in control of my life. A must listen podcast for the modern professional. Also love a bit of Yorkshire humour!

  • Why is my life simplier now? Simply because of the Carl Pullein’s.

Carl Pullein is a Master of Simplicity. He opened my eyes and changed my view on many things I have not seen before. Now it’s so clear to me. I like watching his videos and listening podcasts just to stay on this path.

Most people try to promote system as a app. Carl promote system as the background of work that has to be done. Do is the key, organize and collect must be automated. My system now is very simple and works. I remember when i was a Todoist user. Many tasks, many projects, reschedu... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Are You Overcommitted Without Realising It?
Q: This week's question comes from Douglas. How would you get all that under control?
Carl calculates that if Douglas is averaging 25 new tasks a day, 130 emails, and only 3.5 hours of non-meeting time, he'd have barely a minute per item; the fix is to reduce incoming workload, cap meetings, and streamline communication so capacity matches reality.
Why Everything Feels Like It Needs to Be Done Today
Q: Hi Carl, what advice would you give to someone who is always busy and never has time to do their most important work?
The key answer is to audit your waking hours, write down everything you do for 48 hours including personal activities, compare it with what you wish you were doing, and then implement strict start and end times, a focused two-minute planning review each day, and routines that automate decision-making. Start your day slowly, map out must-do tasks, create a fixed end-of-work time, and protect that time from distractions to ensure you actually work on what matters.
Why You Never Have Time for Your Most Important Work
Q: This week's question comes from Sarah: what would you advise someone who never gets round to doing their most important work because their calendar always fills up with meetings?
The host responds by emphasizing calendar discipline, auditing meetings, capping weekly meeting time, delegating when possible, and creating dedicated blocks for strategic and focused work, while also sharing personal examples and a step-by-step approach to gradually reduce meeting load.
Why You’re Too Tired to Plan Tomorrow
Q: Hi Carl, you recommend that you should do your daily planning at the end of the day, not at the beginning.
Yes, the idea is to reduce tomorrow's decisions by pre-committing what you will do and when you will do it, which lowers cognitive load and fatigue the next day.
Your To-Do List Is Hiding the Truth About Your Time.
Q: Hi Carl, I've heard you say many times that your calendar should be your primary productivity tool. I really struggle with that because I have so many tasks to do and so I find myself beginning and ending my day in my task manager. Do you have any suggestions on how to make my calendar my primary focus?
Yes. Focus on scheduling the actual work into the calendar rather than leaving tasks as a list. Use the calendar to protect time blocks for deep work, and treat the task manager as a way to prepare and cue what you will do when you sit down, rather than as a stand-alone plan for the day.
