  • Might be done

As a long time listener, I might just be done with this podcast. Episodes with Shadi and Damir have become very one note based on their personal ticks and favorite lines of criticism of those they don’t like. No real substantive discussion of these issues with people who can offer any counterpoints, just their repetitive grievances.

  • Could use more listening

Really appreciate the frequent voices of Christine and Sam; it seems like they actually keep to the idea of getting at "first principles" rather than wading into dollar store political philosophy. On the whole it seems like there needs to be some better organization of topics and discussion. More listening and asking questions. Some episodes, I feel like I'm walking in a "DC Bro" dive bar near the Hill. If this podcast is backed by Aspen, I wish they'd push for better clarity.

  • First principles and deep dives

Very intelligent conversation about morality, politics, culture, the world, and much more. A great dive into the challenge of being intellectually honest and politically effective.

Waiting for the Barbarians
Q: But isn't there a risk of drawing a moral equivalency here and saying that it's not just about the right, but it's a broader American thing?
Damir contends that while the left may have its faults, it does not equate to the kind of 'barbarism' he associates with the right, specifically Trumpism.
Waiting for the Barbarians
