Thanks to your hypocritical censorship in your group, I looked closer and realized the admin of the group were absolutely disgusting menaces to society and the most unhealthy looking slobs I have ever had the misfortune of laying eyes upon. Going to an obnoxious obese mess and pallor twig that a strong wind could snap- both looking nutrient deficient and highly mentally unstable, for gardening advice is like going to a crack head still in the thralls of dependency for help with detoxing. Yikes!... more

  • So disappointing

I just started with episode seven on canning, and they rattled off food after food that they say can’t be canned, without ever saying why not.

Episode 1587: S10E18 What should you really grow, Fertilizer alternatives, Guest Dr. Shaun McCoshum, Garden Q&A - The Gardening with Joey and Holly Radio Show
Q: How often should I use blood meal or bone meal in my garden?
Use one to two pounds per 100 square feet, or about one teaspoon per plant, and water in; repeat every two months during the growing season.
Episode 1570: Seg 3 of S10E14 Guest John Libs EO and Co-founder of Beetlegone and Grubgone - The Gardening with Joey and Holly Radio show
Q: What is the best method to get rid of grubs and where do they come from initially?
Beetle larvae (grubs) hatch from beetles that lay eggs in late summer, then survive through fall and winter as larvae feeding on roots; timing is crucial, with spring and late summer applications being effective depending on soil temperature and lifecycle stages.
Episode 1567: S10E14 reestablish a garden bed,Garden myths, guest John Libs Garden Q&A -The Gardening with Joey and Holly Radio Show
Q: What is the best method to deal with grubs and where do they come from initially?
Grubs originate from beetles that lay eggs in late summer; they hatch into larvae that feed on roots. IPM-based strategies combining non-chemical products like Grubgone with carefully selected chemical products can be effective, and timing matters—spring applications target grubs as they come up, with a possible second application in late summer for newly hatched larvae.
Episode 1606: Seg4 of S10E21 Garden Q&A - The Gardening with Joey and Holly Radio Show -
Q: When is the best time to transplant perennials, and what should the soil temperature be to plant my vegetable plants?
Transplant perennials in the spring is best, with fall as a secondary option; for vegetables, aim for soil temperatures around 55-60°F for tomatoes and potatoes, and a bit warmer for cucumbers, around 65-70°F, with attention to maintaining a consistent root-zone temperature.
Episode 1621: Seg 4 of S10E24 Garden Q & A part 31 - The Gardening with Joey and Holly Radio show
Q: What are the broader implications of soil quality and compost origin on long-term plant health and how to mitigate persistent problems from past soil amendments?
Poor or contaminated compost can have lasting effects on plant health; ensure compost origin is reputable, avoid broadleaf herbicide contamination, and consider remediation steps like removing affected soil and reconditioning with clean compost while monitoring for residual residues over multiple growing seasons.
