  • Don’t tell me how tired you are.

Please don’t begin by telling the audience how tired you are from a party.

Put the dog away before the podcast. A barking dog in the background is sort of unprofessional.

I wanted to here Oliver Burkeman. Thanks for that.

Erica Berry on the meaning of wolves
Q: I'd love to know a little bit more about your origins as a writer, because this is an astonishingly kind of poised and authoritative debut. Where did you begin as a writer?
I was a poet first. I think that was the sort of attention to language and the specificity of that as a teenager. I became very interested in the idea that I could look outward and I was curious.
Kaitlin Curtice on resisting with integrity
Q: What's your preferred language for that, first of all?
Kaitlin states that 'Indigenous' is her preferred term for describing her cultural identity.
Kaitlin Curtice on resisting with integrity
Q: Can you speak to that a little bit?
Kaitlin discusses the challenges of being a writer during times of social unrest, sharing her perspective on the importance of storytelling and connection.
Camille T. Dungy on unearthing histories
Q: What is the relationship between gardens and societal hierarchies?
Gardens often reflect social control and community standards that marginalize those who do not conform to prescribed aesthetic norms.
Camille T. Dungy on unearthing histories
Q: Can you talk a bit about motherhood as a huge theme in this book?
Parenting during the pandemic posed challenges but ultimately fostered a unique bond with my daughter as we navigated this together.
