  • A must listen for grievers - especially widows

Lauren speaks from the heart, so full of empathy & with a gift for words meaning that she describes, explains and honours so much of what I’ve experienced and continue to experience over 5 years into widowhood. This podcast will help you - whatever stage you’re at in your grief journey - but I feel especially for those in the early weeks and months. Give it a listen - I promise you won’t regret it x

  • Worlds Worst Club

I hate that we’ve connected over being members of the world’s worst club that we never asked to join. Knowing that you are creating and cultivating a community for others to feel seen and validated says so much about your character. I originally followed your Instagram page when some of your posts resonated with me after death of my 28-year-old fiancé, Zach. Then I begin sharing a lot of your post with another friend after the traumatic death of her 30-year-old husband.

  • Lauren is amazing!

Having met with Lauren for over a year after the loss of my 52 year old husband, I’m not sure what I’d do without her. And NOW her podcast gives me a daily dose of all the things a widow needs to hear & be reminded of!

EPISODE 36: "Will My Child Be Ruined By This?" - Parenting Through Grief After Loss with Jessica Correnti
Q: What is the single, overarching message you want widowed parents to hear?
You don't have to do this alone; build a village and lean on capable, compassionate people over time, because community support makes the grief journey more navigable for both you and your children.
EPISODE 36: "Will My Child Be Ruined By This?" - Parenting Through Grief After Loss with Jessica Correnti
Q: When should a parent seek outside support for their child, and what types tend to be helpful?

EPISODE 36: "Will My Child Be Ruined By This?" - Parenting Through Grief After Loss with Jessica Correnti
Q: What should grieving parents understand about children witnessing grief and emotional expression?
Children benefit from seeing emotions and witnessing repair; this helps normalize feelings, teaches coping skills, and models healthy strategies like walking after crying or talking through emotions, while the parent avoids placing the burden of care on the child.
EPISODE 36: "Will My Child Be Ruined By This?" - Parenting Through Grief After Loss with Jessica Correnti
Q: How should parents balance showing emotion with not overburdening their children?
Parents should validate their own feelings, model healthy repair after emotional moments, and involve children in age-appropriate conversations without making them responsible for the parent's healing, creating space for both emotions and routines.
EPISODE 36: "Will My Child Be Ruined By This?" - Parenting Through Grief After Loss with Jessica Correnti
Q: What do you think is underneath the fear that a widowed parent carries about their child being permanently ruined by this loss?
The fear stems from the instinct to protect children and the concern that intense emotions and changes in family dynamics could overwhelm them; the guests emphasize that while you can't fix everything, showing a full range of emotions and modeling coping can actually support children and teach resilience.
