  • Interesting topics

I like the topics, very informative. Good journalism behind it but seems not enough to bridge the divisions in this country.

Telling white kids to be ashamed of their race, shaming them for the history of America (both things they can’t change) and treating kids differently depending on their race is racist. A Vermont Jewish student banished from Israel speaks out
Q: What do you hope to study in college?
I think I want to study philosophy and religion, maybe international relations.
A Vermont Jewish student banished from Israel speaks out
Q: How do you answer that? Is there a Judaism for you that is separate from nationalism, from feelings about the Israeli state?
I think there absolutely is. Judaism has thrived in the diaspora for hundreds of years, and we can practice Judaism without practicing allegiance to a government or a state.
Maria Stephan on the 3.5% Rule and how nonviolent protest can stop authoritarianism
Q: What does playing offense look like in nonviolent resistance?
Playing offense means offering a compelling, affirmative vision of the society we want, respecting rights and enabling flourishing.
Maria Stephan on the 3.5% Rule and how nonviolent protest can stop authoritarianism
Q: Where do you see hope of people of that stature, the leaders of industry and such, standing up?
There are examples of courage and collective action, like the Idaho teacher who stood for inclusion or businesses refusing service to ICE.
'We don’t have a safety net': A Vermont family confronts a future without health insurance
Q: Who do you hold responsible for this?
I believe in so much good work that's happening here in Vermont... it seems to be this human condition of greed and power.
