Sometimes the talk gets a bit squidy for an Air Force guy. I was amazed with the MacArthur bio.
Small suggestion: when you open the subject , take less than 10 seconds to correlate the Pacific timeline to the European conflict. Such as “ we are covering Black Sheep squadron today, Boyanton is shot down and it is 6 months prior to D day”.
Really great pod guys👍🏼 A well deserved 5 stars.
Referring to ICE and CBP agents as “knuckle-dragging, federalized battle monkeys” just lost you a longtime listener.
Jon can drop political jabs, and I can drop a one star and unsubscribe.
I hope this is going to turn into an editorial on current events by John. Love the HISTORY .
I absolutely love this podcast. I learn so much in every episode. My dad was in the Pacific as a SeeBee. He never talked much about it other than maybe a few times. I’d like to suggest maybe you can do an episode on the SeeBee’s. I like you both your personalities shine through and you aren’t afraid to express your feelings which I love. Thanks for bringing the Pacific theater to the public and the knowledge you have. Have either of you heard of the Gettysburg film festival? If they do a series ... more

This show consistently delivers deep dives into the Pacific Theater of World War II, focusing on battles, strategy, and the people who shaped the conflict. Episodes combine rigorous historical analysis with accessible storytelling, often featuring guests with firsthand or scholarly perspectives. Listeners tend to appreciate thorough research, nuanced debates, and long-form discussions that unpack complex campaigns rather than offering quick soundbites. A notable strength is the hosts' willingness to challenge conventional narratives while maintaining engaging banter and clear takeaways, which makes it a strong fit for listeners who want both rigor and storytelling. The format and guest mix also position it well for sponsorships and collabor... more
