  • Ben Roberts-Smith VC, an International Hero!

I hope the probe into the service of Ben Roberts-Smith VC shows he’s innocent of allegations of wrongdoing and possibly murder.

It seems to me from across the Pacific Ocean in the USA, that Mr. Roberts-Smith is being targeted by those who are filled with envy and might typically be of an anti-Western, post-Colonialist leanings. Please stop it, governments everywhere! Leave our veterans of the past quarter century alone. They didn’t cause the problems in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Gaza e... more

  • The BRS episode is ludicrously biased.

I’m just wondering how much Kerry Stokes & Gina paid for the BRS episode? It’s usually an ‘okay’ pod, however this episode is ridiculous. You conveniently leave out the fact that he threatened & harassed witnesses in the civil case. The fact that his accusers are also ‘war hero’s’ (be it without the medals). You also leave out the fact that Australia is obligated to hold up the Geneva Convention. Once a combatant is restrained (captured) and in the power of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), th... more

  • Biased podcast

I unsubscribed after listening to the latest episode. The coverage of the Ben Roberts-Smith arrest and charges was completely biased in his favour. Downplaying the crimes and the prior civil trial finding of substantial truth. The bias was demonstrated by the host stating ‘these charges seem ridiculous’. The job of a host is to be objective, regardless of their personal feelings. Lack of favour is particularly important as the matter is before the courts. Read the judgment and books. Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Isla Bell: The Collapse of the Prosecution Case
Q: From a prosecutorial perspective, what were the main factors that led to discontinuing the case against the murder suspect and downgrading then dropping the manslaughter charge?
The core issue was proving the cause of death beyond reasonable doubt given the decomposed remains and complex forensic facts; prosecutors must also exclude other realistic explanations, and in this case the threshold was not met, leading to discontinuance. If new evidence arises, charges can be refiled, but an acquittal by jury would be required to permanently end the matter.
Jefferson Lewis: Murder Allegations and Mob Justice
Q: Now, who is Jefferson Lewis? ... what can you tell us about him, his history and how he fit into the puzzle here?
Karleigh Smith describes Jefferson Lewis as a well-known local figure with ties to the family via marriage, noting his outsize presence in the community and the early police statements that he was the suspected perpetrator, which shaped subsequent events and public reaction.
Jefferson Lewis: Murder Allegations and Mob Justice
Q: So here you are again, you've been dealing with this awful case. I guess just take the listeners right back to the start, and tell us a little bit about this little girl.
Karleigh Smith explains the background of the girl, the community context in Alice Springs, and the significance of naming choices within Indigenous traditions, painting a picture of the family network and the town camp environment where the case unfolded.
Australia's Deadliest Serial Killer? - The Milat Inquiry
Q: What is the purpose of the new inquiry and who is leading it?
The inquiry intends to determine the extent of Milat's crimes and whether additional disappearances are linked to him, led by the MP Jeremy Buckingham, with testimony from families and investigative agencies.
Australia's Deadliest Serial Killer? - The Milat Inquiry
Q: Who was Ivan Milat and why did his crimes shock Australia?
Milat was a serial killer who abducted and murdered seven backpackers between 1989 and 1992; his case unsettled Australia due to the brutality, the number of victims, and the belief that more murders may be connected to him.
